About
HourDate is a small UK shop. We make printable personalised keepsakes. Write to [email protected].
The product
HourDate makes a star chart, or a print of the moon’s phase, for a date, time, and place you choose, and lets you download the files. Each design is its own purchase. The chart is a keepsake. It is not for navigation, surveying, or anything where a wrong position could cause harm. Positions are geometric calculations for sea level. They are accurate to a small fraction of a degree on the sky, which is less than the width of a star dot on the print.
What you may do with your files
When you buy a key, you may print the design that key unlocks, give the prints as gifts, and keep the files for yourself. You may not resell the files as a stock product, and you may not offer the maker itself as your own service. The words you type are yours.
One design
A star-map key unlocks every format for one night (the date, time, and place). A moon key unlocks every format of the moon for one night. A star-map key does not open the moon print, and a moon key does not open the star map. You can change the words and download that night again on the same device. The key is remembered in this browser. It is not an account we host. There is no subscription.
Price and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling and are shown before you pay. A star map is £3. A moon print is £3. Payment is taken by Gumroad. You can cancel within 14 days of paying, until you download a print file. Before that download starts, you are asked to agree that the files are supplied immediately and that the 14-day right to cancel for a change of mind ends. If the files are faulty or not as described, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 stay. See the refund policy.
The data in the map
Star positions are adapted from the HYG Database under CC BY-SA 4.0. Towns are from GeoNames under CC BY 4.0. Details and links are on the credits page. Those licences apply to the data files, which stay separate from the rest of the site.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer in the UK, you also have the rights given by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
